Terms of Service

Last updated 3 November 2026

In short: Astra Empire is free to play. You need to be 18 or older, keep your account to yourself and play fair. Aether is an optional in-game currency you can buy with real money; it is a licence to use game features, has no cash value and cannot be exchanged back. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected by anything below.

1.Who we are and these terms

Astra Empire (the "Game"), including this website and the game worlds on it (together, the "Service"), is run by DEMO COMPANY LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 11223344, registered office 1 Demo Street, London, EC1A 1AA, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at info@example.com or through the contact form.

These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account, playing or buying anything you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

2.Who can play

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account and to make purchases.

You must give us true details when you sign up and at checkout, and keep them up to date in your profile.

3.Your account

An account is personal: one person, one account. You may not share, sell, lend or transfer it, or use someone else's account.

Keep your password secret and use one you do not use anywhere else. You are responsible for everything done through your account until you tell us that someone else has access to it. If you think it has been compromised, change your password and contact us at once.

You can delete your account at any time under Profile. Deleting it is permanent: your players, planets, fleets, messages and any unused Aether are deleted and cannot be restored.

4.The Game

Astra Empire is a strategy game played in your browser in separate worlds (galaxies). Playing is free. Each world has its own players, map and speed settings, and you join each world once.

Everything in the Game (planets, resources, ships, research, ranks and the like) is virtual. It exists only inside the Game, has no value outside it and does not belong to you; you have a personal licence to use it while you play.

To keep the Game fun and fair we may change it at any time: rebalance units and prices, add or remove features, and open, stop, merge or close worlds. A world that closes is removed with everything in it. We tell players in advance where we reasonably can.

Other players can attack, raid and spy on your planets. That is part of the Game, and losses suffered in play are not a fault of the Service.

5.Fair play

To keep the Game fair for everyone, you must not:

  • use bots, scripts, macros, modified clients or any software that plays for you or gives you an advantage
  • use bugs or exploits; if you find one, report it to us and do not use it
  • run several accounts in the same game, or work with others to push resources or points to one player ("pushing")
  • buy, sell or trade accounts, game items or currency for real money or anything of value outside the Game
  • harass, threaten, insult or impersonate other players or our staff, or post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content
  • use names that are offensive, misleading or infringe someone else's rights
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse engineer the Service or try to reach parts of it that are not public

If you break these rules we may warn you, remove virtual items or progress gained by it, or suspend or close your account, depending on how serious it is. We act on evidence and you can ask us to review a decision by writing to us.

6.Player names and messages

Your player names, planet names and messages are visible to other players. You remain responsible for what you write.

You give us a free, worldwide licence to store, show and moderate what you post, as far as we need it to run the Service. We may remove content that breaks these terms. We do not read private messages unless a player reports them or we need to investigate abuse or comply with the law.

7.Aether and purchases

Aether is the Game's premium currency. You can buy it in the shop in fixed packages or in a custom amount from 1,000 to 5,000,000. You also get small amounts from playing (for example from expeditions).

  • Aether is a licence to use features of the Game, not money or property. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged back into money, and cannot be transferred to another account.
  • One Aether balance belongs to your account and can be spent in every world of the Game you play. What it buys (officers, class changes, instant finishes, resource packages) is listed in the Game and may change.
  • Prices are shown in euros (EUR) and are the full price you pay. No VAT or other taxes are added. Your bank may charge its own fees, for example for currency conversion.
  • We price every order on our server. If a price was shown wrongly because of an obvious error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not see or store your card details. We may refuse or cancel an order we reasonably suspect is fraudulent, and we sell only to billing addresses in the countries listed at checkout.
  • Aether is added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. You receive a receipt and an invoice by email, and can download the invoice again under Orders.

8.Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Aether is digital content that we deliver immediately. At checkout you ask us to deliver it at once and confirm that you then lose the right of withdrawal, so once Aether has been added to your account the purchase can no longer be withdrawn.

This does not affect your rights if the purchase was not delivered or does not work as described, and it does not limit our Refund Policy.

9.Refunds and chargebacks

When and how we refund is set out in our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us first: we can usually solve it quickly. If you start a chargeback instead, we may suspend the account while it is open and remove the Aether from the disputed purchase.

10.Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, is used for fraud, or must be closed by law. Where we close an account without a breach on your part (for example because we stop running the Game), we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused purchased Aether bought in the last 12 months.

Sections that by their nature should continue after the account ends (for example payment, liability and law) continue to apply.

11.Intellectual property

The Game, its name, logo, artwork, texts, music, code and design belong to DEMO COMPANY LTD or its licensors. You may use them only to play the Game. You may share screenshots and videos of your play for non-commercial purposes, as long as you do not suggest that we endorse them.

12.Availability

We work to keep the Service running and secure, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may take it down for maintenance, preferably at quiet times. If an outage or error damages your game state, we may restore it from a backup, which can undo recent progress.

13.Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses (the Service is for private use), or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Where the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot be limited by law.

14.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the Game or the law changes. We publish the new version here with a new date. For changes that matter to you, we tell you by email or in the Game at least 14 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you may delete your account before then; continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.

15.Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, please write to us first and we will try to settle it with you. If that does not work, the dispute goes to the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts there.
